Join ONDA for the first installment of our 2019 High Desert Speaker Series in Portland. This event is free and registration via the Eventbrite link above is required!

Join Aja DeCoteau to learn about how the Columbia River Inter-Tribal Fish Commission (CRITFC) coordinates fisheries policy, restores streams and manages watershed conservation on behalf of the Yakama, Warm Springs, Umatilla and Nez Perce tribes. With a record of managing fisheries recovery using a holistic approach, Aja will discuss how culture and conservation intersect throughout the Columbia Basin. You’ll leave this talk with a greater appreciation for the importance of the cooperative approach to salmon management across our region.

About the speaker:
Aja DeCoteau is a citizen of the Confederated Tribes and Bands of the Yakama Nation and has other tribal lineage with the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa Indians, Cayuse and Nez Perce. She has nearly twenty years of experience working on natural resource management and policy issues in the Columbia River Basin. She currently serves as the Watershed Department Manager for the Columbia River Inter-Tribal Fish Commission (CRITFC) in Portland, OR, where she coordinates fisheries restoration and watershed protection activities.

Event notes:

Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. with the speaker beginning at 7 p.m. For more information about other events in this series, visit ONDA.org/speakerseries.
